Activities

Conwy Valley Railway Museum

Y Festri is ideally situated for an exceptionally wide range of tourist attractions and activities.

Walking

Perched 600 feet (200 metres) up on the side of the mountain there are wonderful walks behind the house. In five minutes you can be above the house, looking down over the house to the town below; in fifteen you can be up on top of the old slate heaps wandering among the fascinating historical relics of the slate industry. A slightly longer (45 minute) walk takes you higher up, through bilberry bushes, to Llyn Manod, a mountain lake which is fun to swim in the summer. Walking down into the valley, a half-hour walk brings you to Coed Cymerau: woodland and waterfalls and the start of a whole series of trails. You could also walk the Rhiwbach tramway through town, up mountains, and around lakes.
